Community Development Commission of Mendocino County (CDC)

The CDC operates a number of housing programs for Mendocino County including Section 8, Shelter Plus Care and Veterans Housing (VASH) rental assistance. We also manage our own housing throughout our county. We administer programs that provide funding for home purchases and housing rehabilitation.

We implement energy efficiency programs for local governments with the assistance of PG&E.

The waiting list for Housing Choice Voucher remains open for those who qualify for the following:

  • Natural Disaster Emergency Preference –Families who have been affected by a federal or state declared natural disaster such as a fire, flood, earthquake or other natural cause in which the applicant’s housing was rendered uninhabitable.
  • English Pre-application

  • Spanish Pre-application

**Please check our Fire Relief Information page for information about resources for those who have been affected by the recent wildfires.

ATTENTION:
The Community Development Commission of Mendocino County requests that current program participants and applicants listed on CDC’s waiting lists who have been directly impacted by the recent wildfires to please contact us as soon as possible.

This Includes:
-Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) participants
-VASH participants
-Permanent Supportive Housing (formerly known as Shelter Plus Care) participants
-As well as any families currently listed on CDC’s waiting lists

Additionally, our Project Based Voucher Waiting List is currently open. If you have been directly impacted by the wildfires you may apply and potentially receive a preference.
